Siena Research Institute Travis Brodbeck Associate Director of Data Management

As the Associate Director of Data Management, Travis brings deep expertise in sampling methodologies, data analysis, and survey design, translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights. He specializes in public opinion and social science research and, in addition to his professional work, teaches courses in accounting and research methods at Siena University. Travis has been with the Siena Research Institute since 2017, progressing from intern to Pre-election Poll Coordinator and now to a leadership role overseeing data management.
His experience also includes work as an Operations Technology Specialist and HMIS Systems Analyst, where he developed digital solutions and analyzed data to support nonprofit operations. In his current role, Travis leads the design and execution of sampling strategies, manages multi-mode data collection, programs survey instruments, and ensures data integrity through rigorous cleaning, weighting, and advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning applications.
Travis focuses on producing high-quality data that informs meaningful decision-making and is driven by a commitment to methodological rigor and responsible innovation. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Science at the University at Albany, SUNY, and frequently presents research at national and regional conferences, including AAPOR and the American Statistical Association. In his free time, Travis enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with his cats, Pistachio and Mr. Muscles, and remains actively involved as a volunteer leader with the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi.
